Loved the introspection of motivation; as someone who has more than a glimmer of my own mortality - I appreciated the honesty. I also agree with your sentiment on enjoying the solitude of the journey - sometimes i crave adventurous partnership and other times I relish in the alone time just me, my body, my own head and the terrain I am traveling through. And I so resonate with that boring in-between miles that really challenge you on long distances. Speaking of crying and Questlove - the day after finishing the Bear 100 - I was pretty emotionally raw - and I found myself weeping with the job and beauty of listening to Questlove play along with Norah Jones’s - you can find it on YouTube : Why am I treated so Bad.
